Mwisho ni Mwanzo

Kufafanua na lugha
Maneno mengi ya kusema
Kupatana na mapya
acha uswahili!

Lugha Kujikumbusha
Hakuna umakini
Tena kurudia
Kutoelewa asili
Masikio na macho
Weka Makini!
Kukita mizizi...

Miezi nyingi kutoandika
Lugha ya utotoni
Tena kuanza
Na ma-zoezi
Mwisho ni mwanzo
Gurudumu k`znguka!
Juu... chini
Mifumbo na ushairi

The difference between winning and succeeding: John Wooden (Ted Talk)

I know I have not generated a lot of content in the recent past but that's fine. I'm still blogging and sharing... things that I like and wouldn't mind sharing with others... a lot of nice bits and pieces and poetry and good clear thought that I would like to borrow. A good start to my Sunday.

Sommaren är kort

Naomi Wachira - African Girl

Finding a lot of good music! If I like... I Share. '' Good '' is relative but the liberty to choose and express preference is something not to be taken for granted.

Mumbi- Probably For Lovers (cover) MUSIC VIDEO

Never get tired of Just a Band's music (and now I'm discovering their covers) ... like this one...just happened to stumble on this off a link to a video created by Just a Bands friends for the original song..

Nitabaki na Nini? - Sarabi

Ok... I have to be honest here... I don't totally like this song but I like the video concept. It shows how people can remain faceless yet they are the ones most affected by our politicans and administrators antics. Something has been itching that I need to post the song so I have.. one request to Sarabi... heard you guys play in concert several times from a long time ago (from 2008 or 2009... things that define your performances:- Entertaining and ENERGY!!!

BUT... make a video for the song that goes "Mvua inaponyesha" I never get tired of that one and would share it all over ...but for now here is

Lugha Na Maarifa

This is my new garden
And a few seeds have been planted
And when the flowers come out
I will pick just the ones that stand out
Those that bring gladness and make my spaces mellow
The reds, the whites the blues the greens...
But I do not mean these colours literally
Planting and watering what I will
Tag and post what is as is
Clear the space pull out the weeds
Start afresh... new ground to till.

J.D.A ........................................

Like this definition (from google) and had to look it up after editing

mellow ˈmɛləʊ
adjective 1. (especially of a sound, flavour, or colour) pleasantly smooth or soft; free from harshness.

Punctuation Marks (...the absence of...)

All my spelling mistakes...
and misplaced and ommitted
Punctuation Marks
Repetitions and
Hesitations and
Continuation and
Stops and Starts
And breaks in
Rhythm and intonation
Between Results and causation
And Complication of chains
of consonants and vowels
processed in thought
coded in another alphabet

In the mind they float
Then some words
Mistakenly deleted
Lines lost in an instant
Were but now are not
Now searching
In the jumbled chords
There goes another lost sequence

But its all OK in capital letters
its me expressed and me at best
Me with all my selfselfness
And no.. I did not write like this in school
It was more close to perfect
...Less disjointed
But I know I'm not sitting any test
In complete sentences
But I can completely express myself
In exact thought process
With no word symbols ommitted
Thoughts in random order completed.
... uninterrupted
Mind reconstructed

Silence isn't always golden
Sometimes it looks like a still place
A gently ebbing lake> but with deep undercurrents

At times
The place one is before learning to speak
Where one listens more and gets to
Build real words rather than
Stutters mumbles, sighs and clicks
vocalizations that no letters in the alphabet
can accurately depict

Silence is best observed
With closed eyes
Not needing to believe in anything
But becoming a believer all the same
that many truths to many are just make belief

Silence can be taking deep breaths
and opening our ears
Blowing our noses
And coughing our thoughts clear

Silence is like laughter
jumping on a chair
Stubbing a toe
Screaming in a crowd
whistling along to ones own music
Being well enough aware
To call ones own kind of noise
Beautifully silent

I am .......

Often we find ourselves in places where we forget... Good music to remember

...listening to this I remember my high school principal posing a question to us every week in first form during his talks... wonder how many of us might have figured it out. His question... "Who am I?" I don't think it was ever supposed to get an answer...then just wondering if one of us... (13 or 14 year olds) responded by saying "I am light" ...wouldn't that have left the whole bunch of us all too puzzled... Light!!! from where ??? ...

good music...

Cardboard Boxes

These cardboard box walls
That surround our minds
And make it feel strangely at home
These cardboard box walls of thoughts that feel safe
And traditions well engrained
These cardboard walls that give a sense of security
These walls of history painted in [.......]

These walls that keep out the dust of the unknown
But only until it rains
Then the cardboard walls get soaked and wet and mouldy
And the walls become dust on their own
These flimsy walks that keep us caged
That only too easily come down crashing
When a little wind blows their way
These foundationless towers
These false roads to happiness
That lead to false imprisonment
Jan 16.2012

It is to these walls that I bow
And to these forts that I retreat
Because if these towers were made of stone
They would have been too imposing for me
To dare find a deeper truth
To set off on my path back
To hope to get to a place
Closer to home
